Family Life & Traditions

About My Teaching Journey…
I attended Cal State LA to become a teacher, and after 34 years I still love my job. I want to encourage my students to grow as much as they possibly can. This will be my 35th year teaching in the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Of those 35 years, 32 were in first grade and three in a Transitional Kindergarten classroom.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I enjoy being in the classroom with my students. They are so open to new things and new challenges. Year after year, the children continue to surprise me at how much they learn and grow.
I watch their little faces light up and enjoy their eagerness to learn and absorb all they can in a little short year. Together, we will make this a great year!”
What she enjoys most:
I enjoy spending time with my family at home and watching TV together.
Where did you go the last time you travelled?
The last time I travelled was to Hawaii. I went with my family. We stayed in Maui for a week. We went for walks on the beach, enjoyed a Luau, and ate lot of shaved ice, which was delicious!
What would people be surprised to find out about you?
I think they would be surprised to find out that I am very fond of dancing, especially dancing to Mexican music.
What is your favorite time of year?
My favorite time of year is fall. I enjoy the changes that come with it. The cooler weather, the changes in the colors of the trees, and the cozy feeling that comes with warm drinks. It’s just beautiful!
